De CS-serie verschaft zowel gestandaardiseerde interfaces voor open netwerken als kosten-efficiënte snelle eigen netwerkkoppelingen. Gegevenskoppelingen tussen PLC's of naar informatiesystemen van een hoger niveau kunnen tot stand worden gebracht met seriële of ethernetkoppelingen of met het gebruiksvriendelijke Controller Link-netwerk.

Omron ondersteunt de twee belangrijke veldnetwerken, DeviceNet en PROFIBUS-DP. Voor snelle veld-I/O, biedt CompoBus/S van Omron een onovertroffen installatiegemak. Volledig door de gebruiker configureerbare seriële en op CAN gebaseerde communicatie kan worden gebruikt om een uiteenlopende reeks toepassingsspecifieke protocollen te emuleren.
